Cupid Strikes!

Happy Valentines Day My Dearest Darlings!

I hope everyone is having a chocolate-filled day, whether they have a boyfriend or not. I'm also hoping you're reading a particularly swoony book on this love-filled day (especially if you don't have a boyfriend and need a dose of romance in your life).

Now, in the event that you're not quite sure which swoony book you want to read this Valentines Day, you might find this cute little feature, CUPID STRIKES particularly helpful. What I've done, with some help (read: actually a lot of help, this post would have never gotten done with out her) from Gillian over at Writer of Wrongs is make up a list of date descriptions we thought our favorite swoony YA boys would take their Valentines on. So, read through, pick your favorite date(s), match up your number(s), and voila! just like that you'll know which book boyfriend you'll need to (re)visit this Valentines Day!

The Date Descriptions:
1. This guy will take you to the high seas, share copious amounts of vodka with you, and let you have your way with him.

2. He’ll sign you up for a couples lesson in hand to hand combat. There’s nothing more romantic then getting your energy up on the sparring floor, except maybe turning it into face to face combat.

3. Your date with this handsome boy includes a historical tour of the city. He’ll finish the night off with a delicious dinner and some chocolates—French, bien sur.

4. This guy will go all out to charm you, though he may not do it within the limits of the law. But what girl doesn’t want a private tour of the night sky in her very own, temporarily borrowed space ship?

5. He'll take you on a walk to a quiet cove where he's set up a picnic and a small private concert - his original, sweet songs written just for you.

6. He’ll take you to a low key restaurant with a huge menu stuffed with all your favorite foods (which is a lot of them). Plus, he’ll keep the conversation totally on you, making you feel like the most beautiful girl in the room.

7. This guy'll build a hot air balloon just so he can take you on a romantic flight over Paris.

8. He’ll attempt to duck out of anything nice and try to convince you to go for a training run instead. But once you drag him to a fancy restaurant, he’ll more than respond to your advances.

9. He’ll treat you to a romantic trip to the racetrack and then to the nicest dinner he can afford, always making sure to show as much courtesy towards you as possible.

10. You might think starting the night at a Starbucks is a bad omen, but this guy will make it worth your time. And don't worry, afterwards he'll take you to the most romantic, out of the way place you never knew about so he can charm you off your feet in private.

11. He'll fight off a pack of wolves just so he can take you into the woods for a delicious Valentines day picnic put together with vegetables from your garden.

12. After some times spent in the batting cages—with his arms around you to help you “swing”, of course—you decide to skip dinner and take a walk through the barn, for no real reason, obviously.

13. He’ll take you out to a cozy but eclectic restaurant and present you with your gift—a beautiful, personal, and intricate trinket he created just for you.

14. You'll find a train ticket on your dresser, prompting you to take off to a new destination where your guy will be waiting to take you on a Valentines adventure you'll never forget.

15. He'll bake you a cake that's decorated to perfectly represent your time together as a couple and spend the whole evening staring into your eyes.

16. He’ll take you to the beach or the lake, somewhere the two of you can swim and kiss under the stars. He'll want to alone with you away from the noise and craziness of home.

17. Money is no object for this Valentines, but he'd prefer to go the creative way. He'll make you a gift from scratch and take you to the one place he knows will mean something to you, all the while making you laugh with his jokes and witty banter.

18. He's a dedicated friend and an adoring boyfriend who saved up all his money so he could take you on a camping adventure on the beach this Valentines day.

19. He'll buy you backstage tickets to see your favorite band and hold you close as your favorite song plays.

20. In between plotting to take over the world, the guy will treat you to opulent dinners, buy you fancy clothes, and have his way with you in dark corners.

21. He'll spend the day taking you shopping at the most expensive stores and then leave you at the spa so he can go off and prepare a dinner with all of your favorite foods.

Although, I will always have eyes for Kenji ;)

Oh, and, I ended this list with Warner on purpose, because I want to wish you a very Happy Chapter 62 Valentines Day. Because, like, maybe you want that kind of thing. I don't know. HAVE FUN WITH IT.

Who's your Cupid Strikes match? What book are you going to read this Valentines Day? Oh, and if you have a Book Boyfriend date scenario you'd like to add to everything above, PLEASE DO SO IN THE COMMENTS BELOW. I love date stories, especially ones about my fictional crushes.

This post made my day! I had so much fun. I don't understand how you expect me to pick! I love them all so much. <3 Before knowing who's who, I went for 13 and would be pretty happy with Cricket! After Ignite Me though, I can't resist Warner. :3 I have a sudden urge to re-read chapter sixty two just for the sake of it now haha. Loved this post!

The ones I really want is a date with Levi and the Darkling. Levi, mostly because he's Levi. I just swoon for him, and I have no words to describe the strength of my ship.

As for your desciption for the Darkling date, I just had to laugh. I'm an evil girl, and I liked the sound of that date.

This is a wonderful list you've complied, and i just hate there aren't guys in real life who can fulfill this. Especially 10 and 20.

DEFINITELY NUMBER ONE. There's no point in reading the rest of the list because everyone else loses. /in before Judith. /Hahahahhaa. /I claimed him.

And this post is definitely not too long XD MOAR.
I LOVE THIS POST SO MUCH. I had to pick multiple numbers (of course), because these dates are just TOO AWESOME to not want them all. The only book boyfriend I haven't met on this list is Roar (though I will remedy it soon, I SWEAR). Happy Valentine's Day, Gaby! <3

I'm soooooo pleased with myself for picking 5 and 6. :D Such a cute idea, ladies!

I'd have to add: "He'll take you up on the roof for a candlelight dinner and make you laugh the entire time, give you jewelry that matches your style perfectly, then end the night by dancing together beneath the stars."

Gen from The Queen's Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. :)

I JUST WANT TO HUG THIS POST TO DEATH. Seriously.

First, it was a game to see if I could guess what book boy matched each date.
Second, it was a total trip down memory lane to think back on all those swoony fellas.
Third, it made me want to RE-READ THE CRAP OUT OF THESE BOOKS.
Fourth, I should probably read Also Known As and Shadow and Bone, huh?
Fifth, this is so creative that I'm awarding you at least five more jewels for your crown. LEVEL UP, GABY.
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. This is brilliant. I love reading all the picks and am incredibly glad with my picks: 5, 7, 14. Although I still need to read #7 soooo *rushes to library* I now want to have a swoon-worthy-book marathon starring all of these fellas.

AND THAT GIF. <3

I looooooooove this. I told you that already but oh well. I do. I WILL TAKE ROAR OKAY THANK YOU. I still need to finish that series but I already LOVED him in UTNS and his date is perfect okay thank you.

I don't want Warner. You can keep him. Ew.
My recent post Comment on Review: Burn for Burn by Ini
I LOVE this post! I will definitely take Levi, Chaol, and the Darkling. Maybe Jace, too. And definitely Warner, even though I haven't read the books *hides* The date sounds fantastic and I would love it! Sigh. Only half of these would probably even be thought up by men in real life, and even then I'd have to hint at them 600 times before they finally got the message. I'd like to think the next guy I date will ask me for a list of dates I'd love to go on, but pfsh. Yeah right!
My recent post This Week in Review: Feb. 9 – Feb. 15 + Awesome Stuff at the End
I'm totally biased, because I went for 4 & 8 knowing who they were. I also recognized 1, but I'm against alcohol, so that wouldn't work out :p Date 4 & 8 also sound great to me. Chaol can train me all he wants. I'm very lazy, so I could use the exercise. And walking behind him wouldn't be so bad, I'd probably have a great view, haha.
"Let me sing you a love song
About what I feel in my heart;
Butterflies can't find nectar
Whenever we're apart.

You're a flower in bloom.
In the dark,in the gloom,
It's you who brightens my day.
How many ways do I need you?
Every day,every way,come what may."
